An Elevated Autumn Baby Shower
On a beautiful autumn day, mom-to-be Sandra Luesse gathered with guests to celebrate her baby shower in sunny Newport Beach. But this was no ordinary shower–her fashionable friends, all coordinated in flowing floral dresses, arrived to a pink butterfly-themed high tea party fit for a little princess.
Daniel Morris, a classical violinist, serenaded guests with classics from Frank Sinatra as everyone made their entrance. Keeping safety in mind, each guest was given a customized bottle of hand sanitizer and a color-coded mask indicating their comfort level with social distancing.
Before sitting down to tea, the group took photos with the show stopping confection-filled cart from The Candy Coach and pastel balloons from Balloon Babes OC.
Later in the afternoon, everyone gathered around an elegant table set with fine linens from La Tavola, floral china and pink depression glasses from Hostess Haven, and bouquets of roses studded with delicate feather butterflies from French Bouquet.
Together, they savored towers of miniature tea sandwiches and salmon canapes. The Cheese Shop provided a classic charcuterie board that featured brie topped with honeycomb and fresh berries. Everyone sipped a custom brewed rose tea from Rent A Tea Party, which was served with sugar rock sticks, honey, and cream.
For dessert, mom-to-be Sandra was presented with a butterfly-adorned cake from Cakes by KY, as well as a selection of decadent sweet treats, including chocolate-covered rice crispy squares, pastel macarons, and heart-shaped iced sugar cookies all courtesy of Rafi’s Cakes and Cobblestone Bakery.
Over laughter and the sounds of the violin, the group played traditional baby shower games, like matching each guest to their baby photos, and then signed a keepsake teapot for the mom-to-be to remember the day.
